My recent stay at the Lan Thai Ngoc Hotel in Cao Lanh City was a stirring blend of comfort and discovery. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome from the owner set the stage for our journey; she personally detailed the best routes and provided the most economical motorbike rental service I've encountered in Southeast Asia-just $3 a day! The hotel itself offers a commendable mix of amenities, boasting spacious rooms equipped with a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, alongside a clean private bathroom with essential toiletries. While I found serenity in the surroundings, especially the nearby Tràm Chim National Park, with its unique Melaleuca forests teeming with birds, I did struggle with a few design quirks, like a cumbersome bathroom layout that snagged my attention. Although these minor inconveniences left a mark, they did not overshadow the inviting ambience and the serene location. For those travelling solo or in small groups, Lan Thai Ngoc Hotel serves as a warm base from which to explore the area's natural beauty. I would readily recommend this place for its charm and affordability, with an assurance that my next visit might just lead to a room better suited to my preferences.
